| Meeting numerous requests of the attendees of The 4th International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions” the end date for submitting abstracts was extended from September 20 to October 2, 2009.
As of today over 110 people from 18 countries have submitted their applications for attending the conference. Attendance was confirmed by representatives of the RF Ministry of Natural Resources, Emercom of Russia, National Center for Emergency Management, Federal Forestry Agency, RF Ministry of Transportation and RosHydroMet. The “Earth Remote Sensing Programs” section will be attended by representatives of companies-operators of the following satellite systems: ImageSat Int N.V., SPOT Image SA, Hitachi Software Co. Ltd., MDA, Antrix Corp., EUSI and Telespazio/e-Geos.
The primary topics of the 2009 Conference (Plenary Sessions) are as listed below:
• Regional Management in Conditions of Economic Recession;
• Nature Protection;
• Education, Science and Business Integration for Sustainable Development;
• Internet and Geo-information Systems (WEB&GIS).
The following thematic sections are planned at the conference:
• Remote Sensing Programs;
• Remote Sensing to Reduce Risks of Natural Calamities and to Estimate Impacts of Natural and Technological Disasters;
• Data Processing Tools and Technologies;
• Satellite-based Methods of Maritime Monitoring;
• Remote Sensing in Forestry.

October 10, 2009 – notification of acceptance for publication;
December 1-3, 2009 – conference.

The 2009 Conference is a special event due to the 20th anniversary of ScanEx. To celebrate this occasion the program includes master-classes of satellite imagery operators, exhibition of remote sensing achievements, ScanEx products and services user conference, technical tour around the company office, free courses on space imagery processing, etc. The preliminary program of the Conference is published on the event website. Those who wish to attend the Conference shall fill in the registration form.
The previous, third International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions” was held in December 2007 and attended by over 330 participants from 32 countries. |
