Modern technologies, problems and perspectives of using space imagery for national defense and security will be discussed during the 5th International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions”. On the second conference day – November 30 – a thematic section “Application of satellite data for building up national defense capacity”. The section sponsor is the Northern Geographic Company. This topic has been included into the conference program for the first time.
Co-chairmen of the section are:

Representatives of MDA (Canada), Astrium GEO-Information Services (France, Germany), GeoEye (USA), ScanEx RDC (Russia) and others will talk about the possibilities of satellite imagery data application in support of national defense capacity.
— Mechanisms of financing and organization of information support of armed forces of world leading economies have considerably changed lately. Operators of commercial RS systems of meter and submeter resolutions become principal suppliers of the majority of space information. Requirements to operability and frequency of sites imaging have become more stringent. With time, all these technology improvements will become available to all civil society, - says ScanEx RDC Deputy Director General Alexei Kucheiko.
