Program of the first day of the 5th International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions” has taken shape. The conference opening ceremony is scheduled for November 29 at 9:30 am in the conference hall of the Moscow Region “Vatutinki” complex. Three key-note plenary sections will be held on the first day of the conference: “Integration of science, business and education”, “RS market status and national policy” and “Images of the Earth from space and geospatial data for WEB”.
Plenary session “Integration of science, business and education” will open the conference, with the following speakers: Professor Sir Martin Sweeting, SSTL Executive Chairman; Sergei Zhukov, Head of Space Technologies and Telecommunications Cluster of “Skolkovo”; Liam Gumley, specialist of the Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Vladimir Gershenzon, General Director of “ScanEx RDC”.
Heads of leading national and foreign public organizations and commercial companies operating in Earth remote sensing will take the floor at the plenary session “RS market status and national policy”. The following people will share opinions on the RS market development, experience of space technology introduction into practice:
— Adam Keith, Director, Earth Observation (Euroconsult),
— Matthew O'Connell, CEO, President and Director ( GeoEye),
— Rani Hellerman, Director Business Development & Customer Support (ImageSat International N.V.).
— Paulo Bezerra, MDA Director (MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd.) Monitoring and Surveillance Systems and Geospatial Services,
— Herve Buchwalter, CEO of Astrium GEO-Information Services/Spot Image;
— Rene Pischel, Head of Moscow office of ESA,
— representatives from Roscosmos and the Japanese Hitachi Solutions company.
Within the frames of the plenary session “Image of the Earth from space and geospatial data for WEB” the existing and perspective projects of space images and geospatial data supply for web will be discussed. Russian EMERCOM (“Kosmoplan” geoportal), Rosreestr, SGAU (Samara State Aerospace University), “Yandex” company, Space Research Institute of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Japan Space Imaging company will present their project. Besides, the French e-CORCE project will be presented, based on which weekly updating of global Earth coverage on the Internet with 1 m resolution images is expected.
