Round table “Satellite meteorology: modern realities” is to take place within the frames of the 5th International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions”. Liam Gumley from the Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the leading specialist of EOS programs (Terra and Aqua satellites) and future NPP satellite operations will take part in this round table. Liam Gumley will speak about the products, created base on MODIS data of Terra and Aqua satellites and VIIRS data from NPP satellite that is to be launched in October this year, as well as about practical applications.
Professor Josе-Luis Casanova, head of the remote sensing laboratory of the Valladolid University (LATUV), will also take part in the round table. He will tell about experience of receiving MODIS data to own ground receiving station and about practical application of image data products.
Round table participants are to discuss the following as well: - modern conditions of satellite meteorology in the word and in Russia; - hardware and software of satellite meteorology; - methods of application of satellite data for analysis of atmospheric processes, weather forecasts and climate studies.
Specialists experienced in using satellite information in real-time synoptic practice and study of climate are invited to take part in the discussion.
