«Web & GIS 2009» mini-conference: integration of web and geoinformation technologies

«Web & GIS 2009» mini conference, convened to become a ground for discussion between specialists of two information technology branches of the Internet and Geoinformatics, is to take place on December 3 during the 4th International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions”.

Being held for the first time «Web& GIS 2009» mini-conference is organized by ScanEx companies and Yandex. CNews hi-tech publishing house is the information partner of this coming event.

Within the frames of the «Web & GIS 2009» mini-conference plenary presentations of the speakers will be delivered, round table discussions and the following thematic master-classes will be held:
— geoinformation services and products on the mass market;
— new solutions in sphere of GIS system integration (geoportals, metadata catalogs, application of GIS-solutions in web-mapping);
— open interfaces: web as a platform for standardization and exchange of geospatial data;
— access to geodata and their availability: governmental, commercial and user approach to the creation and distribution of geodata through Internet.

The 4th International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions” (December 1-3, Moscow Region “Vatutinki” recreation center of the RF President Administration) will be participated by the representatives of the Federal Space Agency, RF Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology, RF Ministry of Emergencies (EMERCOM), National Center for Crisis Management, RF Ministry of Transportation, regional and municipal administrations, as well as by representatives of educational institutions and major business-structures, foreign space agencies and large RS satellites Operators. To date, over 300 application forms have been submitted by the participants from Russia and 32 world countries (see).
