The International Conference "Earth from Space - the Most Effective Solutions" is the largest biennial event in the field of Earth remote sensing in Russia and CIS countries, gathering representatives of the world leading remote sensing operators and programs, data processing software developers and receiving stations producers, as well as members from different organizations that use remotely sensed data for decision making to resolve a variety of practical tasks: from management of territories and big industrial facilities to real-time monitoring, including emergencies.
Problems and prospects of interaction between military and civil, public and private sectors of space imaging industry, of satellite data application by civil society, influence of satellite data on economic development and of the economy – on the remote sensing market will be discussed within the frames of the 5th International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions” in addition to traditional topics.
Our conference is a well-balanced combination of classic formats and new approaches to them – plenary and poster presentations, workshops, round tables, master-classes, exhibitions, user’s conference, WEB&GIS mini-conference, free consulting on legal issues of RS data applications. There are also plans to demonstrate the operations of our LAN’ mobile space data reception complex.
In 2009 over 500 representatives of 270 organizations from 27 countries took part in the 4th International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions” (Azerbaijan, Canada, Turkey, Armenia, Latvia, Uzbekistan, Byelorussia, Morocco, Ukraine, Germany, Norway, France, Israel, Poland, Switzerland, India, Russia, Estonia, Indonesia, Syria, Spain, USA, Italy, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Japan). Over three conference days 98 oral reports were delivered and 29 poster presentations were exhibited. As compared to 2007 Conference, the number of participants has increased by half and the number of events has doubled. The conference sponsors were: ImageSat Int.
